Bella Heilbrunn, Winner of the 2025 Christel Dehaan Fellowship for Accessible Arts

Thanks to my Christel DeHaan fellowship I got to go on an art and culture filled, educational trip to the West Coast. In LA I was invited to spend time with students and Teaching Artists at one of their ECF Art Centers, a non profit organization similar to ArtMix. I also visited the Broad museum where I got lots of ideas for my classes. Had a great visit with LA artist Max Goldsmith and creatives working for Netflix, Apple Music and IHeart Radio. 

Seeing Palm Springs for the first time, visiting Midcentury Modern hotels and homes and the Art Museum, left a lasting impression. 

To finish up the trip I spent time at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and enjoyed studio visits with a quilter and a jewelry maker, both of them made me something special to take home.
